November 14th 2009, Rice Division of China Agri-Industries Holdings Limited held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its retail store opened in Dalian. Mr. Zhang Xiaoqiang, Deputy Director of the National Development and Reform Commission, Mr. Xu Weiguo, Provincial Standing Committee and Executive Vice Governor of Liaoning Province, Mr. Lv Weifeng, Vice Governor of Heilongjiang Province, Ms. Zeng Liying, Deputy Director of National Food Authority, Mr. Huang Yaosheng, Deputy Director- General of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination, Mr. Liu Yanchun, Deputy Secretary-General of Jilin Provincial Government, Mr. Sun Guangtian, Vice Mayor of Dalian, as well as Mr. Ning Gaoning, Chairman of COFCO Corporation, and Mr. Patrick Yu, President of COFCO Corporation and Managing Director of China Agri, attended the store opening and joined the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
                                     

Besides the rice products, the first two retail stores operated by the Rice Division in Dalian also offer other products of COFCO such as the ‘Fortune’ edible oil, the ‘Great Wall’ red wine, the ‘Xiangxue’ flour, the ‘Le Conte’ chocolate, and ‘The Cereal Way’ noodle.
                                     

In the ceremony, Ms. Yang Hong, Deputy General Manager of China Agri and General Manager of Rice Division expressed that opening retail store was an exploration of new sales channel in the region. In addition, it would also demonstrate the comprehensive product spectrum of COFCO products and further enhance the brand awareness.
                                     

Rice Division opened its first retail store in Chengdu in 2008. The concept of the store was highly recognized by the local residence with its premium branding and physical sales channel that was easily reached by the local customers.
